Cathy is a native New Yorker who relocated South to Alabama, Tennessee and now beautiful Pensacola, Florida. She has painted most of her life but not seriously until 'retiring' to 'Paradise' with her husband Gene in 2001. She has two stepsons,
4 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.
Her mother Evelyn also was an artist.
Cathy has worked with pastels and watercolors but mostly favors acrylics for their flexibility and boldness. She enjoys painting florals, scenery and people but her most favorite of all are animals, working from photos.
Cathy's inspirations are her mother who sketched elegant magazine models; her teacher and friend, artist Talis Jayme. Cathy met Talis through the Escambia County After School Art Classes.
Cathy supports The Friends of the Southwest Branch Library on Gulf Beach Hwy, raising funds for children's activities.
Cathy & Gene bid a sad farewell to their sweet golden Zeda on July 8, 2011. She is running on the beach with Gypsy, Harley, Ivy and Rooker.
Gene & Cathy welcomed a new baby, Josie, to their family in 2012!
